VACANCY: CLEANER
(TEMP 4 MONTHS CONTRACT)
PORT ELIZABETH FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the Port Elizabeth Office area and venues are maintained as per the Cleaning standards.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Proper cleaning of toilets, cleaning of offices, vacuum all carpets, cleaning of windows and other SAMSA assets
• Ensure effective use of cleaning materials and equipment
• Clean the Reception area and offices on a daily basis
• Empty office dustbins daily and dispose of all refuse appropriately in the refuse bins for collection
• Collect paper waste in the specially marked bins for collection by the Recycling Company
• Store all cleaning equipment and products neatly in the designated cupboards.
• Provide assistance in the preparation of meetings in the boardroom
• Ensuring safe use of all equipment and precautions at all times
• Reporting all faults to the supervisor
• Promotion and compliance with the OHS policy
• Undertaking any other duties instructed by Supervisor which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of this position including backing up the part time cleaner in their absence.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• A Grade 12 qualification with relevant experience
• A hygiene and/or Safety and health certification will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE
• Basic knowledge of general hygiene practices
• Extensive experience in a cleaning environment
• Knowledge of the health and Safety Standards
• Ability to use a variety of cleaning equipment and products
• Knowledge of facility layout
• Knowledge of cleaning products and applications
• Understanding of facilities management practices and procedures
• Microsoft Office( Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Health, Hygiene and Safety standards
