CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE, 04 – 06 JULY, 2012
SAMIC is brought to you by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) on behalf of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Dikobe Ben Martins. The conference is intended to attract delegates from various disciplines within the maritime sector. It will for the first time bring together policy-makers from relevant government departments, private sector, organised labour, development finance institutions and private funders all under one roof to discuss key issues and opportunities that will fast track South Africa's maritime programme. This conference aims to develop a clear and well-resourced multi stakeholder maritime sector investment strategy and develop a programme of action.
The august conference, which will be attended by some of the key maritime strategists in the continent, will give the Republic an opportunity to engage on, and firm up its Maritime Development Strategy and present the positioning plan of its maritime industry in context. The Conference will give them the opportunity to plan and align the activities of the maritime sector with the key tenets of government's economic development planning as articulated within the National Growth Plan.
The conference also aims to stimulate and expand participants' knowledge and understanding of this critical sector. It promises not to be a typical power-point conference, but a conference that will promote superior practices by engaging public and private sectors in unblocking challenges related to developing the sector. In attending this conference, you are assured an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The conference will bring lively panels and additional networking opportunities than any other event.
